Kaleidoscopic Cities

 Urban Mandala Photography Collage

Since 2015, I have been traveling to iconic cities and photograph their details—architecture, public art, vegetation, etc. I then digitally collage the images together to create an “urban mandala”. Read more about the project in the press.

Artwork is available in the Shop.

What is a mandala? A mandala can be any circular pattern. One of my inspirations for this project came from Buddhist Tibetan Sand Mandalas [Wikipedia], which act as a map of the cosmos and represent its impermanence. For my Urban Mandalas, pixels take place of sand honoring the idea that everything is connected—all is one and one is all.
